my name is lo
i live and work in edmonton, alberta, canada
... and i love all things miniature!
i started making handcrafted miniatures in 2023 as part of a passion project, when i set out to make a teeny tiny "santa's workshop" for my young daughter to add a touch of extra magic to our christmas celebrations
i was instantly hooked by the beauty and intricacy of small details, and the sense of wonder that comes along with seeing small treasures take shape after hours of painstaking, joyful work
six months later and i still spent most days daydreaming about my next tiny project—but as a mom, wife, and working full-time student, i guilted myself any time i even thought about being "unproductive" by tinkering with my hobby
i packed most of it away
... until july 2024. i visited a local farmer's market with my sister and met a lovely local maker* who spent 20 minutes indulging a million questions from me about her experiences at craft markets and selling handmade
by the time i left her booth, she had me convinced i should really just go for it... so i went all in and started a business, to see what i could do if i gave myself a chance (bonus: now, when i'm crafting, i shut my internal critic down by reminding her i'm working... haha)
i envision this website to be a spot where i can enthusiastically share my creations with friends, family, and any other miniaturist geeks who somehow find their way here
and, if i can manage the scary first step of vulnerably sharing my art on the internet, this site will eventually be home to my online shop and portfolio (an all-important step before pursuing my first real business dream: actually working up the courage to apply for a craft market!)
thanks for reading, and i hope you find something magical while you're here visiting—until i have more to share, please enjoy this snippet of magic from one of my favourite creators and inspirations, min makes
come back soon!
XO, lo
*i reached out to seek permission to share her business name and information—stay tuned!
